These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of cobaltacademyinc.com (the "Site") and the training, advisory, and related services offered by Cobalt Academy Inc. ("Cobalt Academy," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or purchasing our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or our services.
About Cobalt Academy
Cobalt Academy Inc. is an independent, for-profit civilian company based in California providing drone education, FAA Part 107 training, Counter-UAS advisory, and low-cost UAS prototyping. Our courses and public content are based on publicly available information, open-source research, FAA guidance, commercially available technologies, and industry best practices.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase services or submit information through the Site. By using the Site you represent that you meet this requirement.
Courses and training
Our courses are educational in nature. FAA Part 107 preparation and related instruction are designed to help you study for and pursue certification, but we do not guarantee that you will pass any examination or obtain any certification unless a specific written guarantee is expressly offered and its stated conditions are met. Certification is granted solely by the FAA or other applicable authorities, not by Cobalt Academy.
Online course content is delivered through our third-party course platform. Access details are provided after enrollment.
Payments
Course purchases and donations are processed by third-party payment providers. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and are subject to change. You are responsible for providing accurate billing information and for any applicable taxes.
Refunds and cancellations
Courses and training
Refund eligibility depends on the specific course or program and the platform through which it was purchased. Unless a different policy is stated at the time of purchase, requests for a refund of a course or training fee must be made within a reasonable period before the course begins or before course materials are accessed. Once course materials have been accessed, or a session has begun, fees may be non-refundable. To request a refund or cancel, contact us using the details below.
Advisory and consulting engagements
Advisory and consulting work is scheduled and scoped in advance. Cancellations should be made with reasonable notice. Fees for work already performed or time already reserved may be non-refundable.
Donations
Cobalt Academy is a for-profit company. Contributions made through the Site are voluntary, non-tax-deductible, and non-refundable, except where required by law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site or services, including by attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems, using the Site for unlawful purposes, or infringing the rights of others. You are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, local, aviation, export control, and international laws and regulations in connection with drone operation and any use of what you learn.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, images, video, and course materials, are owned by or licensed to Cobalt Academy and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
Disclaimers
Cobalt Academy is an independent civilian drone education, training, and technology company. Our courses, educational materials, and public content are based exclusively on publicly available information, open-source research, FAA guidance, commercially available technologies, and industry best practices.
Cobalt Academy does not provide military tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), defense services, classified information, export-controlled technical data, or instruction intended to support military operations. Any references to military experience reflect the personal backgrounds of individual instructors and do not represent the policies, doctrine, tactics, techniques, procedures, or views of the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Government, or any military organization.
The Site and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cobalt Academy and its officers, employees, instructors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Site or services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cobalt Academy from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Site or services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the Site or services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
