Wrong side of the maths.

The cost of answering a small drone is currently far higher than the cost of sending one. Until that inverts, defending anything at scale is unaffordable. That is the problem this programme exists to attack.

Manufacturability first

A design that cannot be built repeatably at cost is a research project, not a capability. Producibility is a constraint from the beginning rather than a problem handed to manufacturing at the end.

What we will not claim

We are not describing this programme as domestically built. When sourcing and assembly support that claim, we will make it and we will be able to show it. Until then we would rather say less.
